Brown colored water started appearing in the hot water heater only. After draining and flushing the hot water heater until clear, the color started to come back in a few days which pointed to a bad hot water heater. As the current hot water heater was relatively new, they did not go ahead without doing an inspection to make sure that the color was not due to another issue which I thought was very professional.
